Herdís Jónsdóttir was born July 14, 1845 in Dalasýsla. Died in Winnipeg January 3, 1934. Herdis Bray in Canada.

Children: With Gunnlaugur 1. Rósbjörg b. January 18, 1868 2. Anna b. 1870, d. young 3. Gunnlaugur b. 1875. Two other children died in childhood. With Jóhannes 1. Aurora Sigurbjörg 2. Kristín Normandía 3. Anna, d. 1943. Other three children died in childhood.
Herdís emigrated west to Manitoba in 1876 with Rósbjörg. Jóhannes Björnsson traveled with them and they settled in Mikley in New Iceland. They were married in 1977 by Rev. Jón Bjarnaon.
