Oddgeir Friðrik Andrésson was born in 1869 in N. Múlasýsla. He died on October 24, 1941 in Winnipeg. He took the last name Anderson in the west.

Oddgeir emigrated to Winnipeg before 1890. Málfríður came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1888 with her father, Jón Guðmundsson, and his second wife, Kristín Þórðardóttir. The family settled in the Hólar Settlement in Saskatchewan, a short distance from Tantallon, but Málfríður remained in the city. There she met Oddgeir and they lived in the city the rest of his life. Málfríður moved to Los Angeles in 1947 and lived with her son John Martin.
