Sigurbjörn Kristjánsson was born in Dalasýsla on May 28, 1869. He died in the Lundar Settlement on December 22, 1958.

Sigurbjörn came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1887 with his parents and siblings. He worked as a salesman in Winnipeg for a number of years, but then moved to the Lundar Settlement and took land in Markland in 1901. In 1920, they sold that land and moved to another farm just south of Lundar.
