Bjarni came west to N. Dakota in 1887. He was there for a few years, then moved to Duluth, Minnesota and lived there until 1894 when he moved to Winnipeg. Bjarni and Anna moved west to the Pacific in 1896 and settled in Astoria, Oregon. From there, they made their way north to Bellingham, Washington in 1900. Bjarni took land there and lived there the rest of his life.
