Þórður Pétur Guðjónsson was born in Swede Prairie Township in Yellow Medicine County on January 6, 1900. Je died on January 8, 1971 in Minneota, Minnesota. He had the name Theodore Peter Stone in the west.

Þórður was the son of Guðjón Þorsteinsson and Margrét Jónsdóttir, early settlers in Swede Prairie Township in Yellow Medicine County in Minnesota. He graduated from Minneota High School and went on to Mankato State Teachers College and became a teacher. He taught school in Elysian, Minnesota and there he met and married Bernice. They moved from there in 1927 and settled on land in Swede Prairie and began farming. They retired and moved from there in 1960 and settled in Minneota.
