Páll Þorláksson was born in S. Þingeyjarsýsla on November 13, 1849. He died in Mountain, N.D. on March 12, 1882.
Unmarried and childless.
Páll emigrated in 1872 to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He studied theology in St. Louis, Missouri and was ordained as a pastor in the Norwegian Synod in 1875. He founded the first Icelandic congregation in N. America in Shawano County, Wisconsin in the fall of 1875. He later served in New Iceland from 1876 to 1879 but then settled in Mountain, N. Dakota.
