Magnea Guðrún Bergmann was born in Garðar, N. Dakota on December 23, 1889. She took the name Magnea G Paulson with marriage.

Children: 1. Frederick Bergmann b. in Winnipeg on June 23, 1918, d. in World War II in 1944 2. Gordon Alex b. in Winnipeg May 2, 1923 d. June 28, 1945.
Magnea was the daughter of Reverend Friðrik Bergmann and Guðrún Ó Thorlacius in Winnipeg. Gordon was the son of Kristján Pétursson and Þorbjörg Kristjánsdóttir in Gimli. He pursued an education, studying at Wesley College in Winnipeg and earning a B.A. degree in 1912. He was a solicitor in the Winnipeg office of Pitplado & Co. A great musician, he was a young man in the West Winnipeg Band and one of the founders of the Icelandic men’s choir in Winnipeg.
