Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir was born at Sleðbrjót in N. Múlasýsla on August 25, 1896. She died in March 1963.

Ingibjörg was the daugher of Jón Jónsson at Sleðbrjót in N. Múlasýsla and his wife Guðrún Jónsdóttir. They came to the West in 1903. Sigurbjörn grew up at Fagraskógar with his peer, Davíð Stefánsson, who later became one of Iceland’s most beloved poets. He came west by sea in 1906 with his parents, Eggert Sigurgeirsson and Svanhildur Sigurbjörnsdóttir. They farmed in the Siglunes Settlement in Manitoba and Sigurbjörn lived there for the first few years. He attended trade school in Winnipeg and became a shopkeeper in the city from 1915 to 1921. Together with Jón Bergman, he bought an old shophouse in Vogar, Manitoba and started his own shop. He worked at the store the rest of his life.
