Sigtryggur Ágústsson came to Winnipeg at the turn of the century in 1900 and lived there all his life. He was bookish and read a lot and integrated himself into western Icelandic society as much as he could. Then he focused on learning about religion in North America and the various religious movements. He met Rögnvaldur Pétursson, a Unitarian priest in Winnipeg, and it is believed that these encounters led him to read literature on religion. Some of it he thought had a message for Icelanders and that’s why he decided to translate Judas by Georg Brandes. Rögnvaldur published the translation in issue 1, volume 3. Let’s look at samples:
