Albert was the son of Albert Jónsson from Hrísir in Eyjafjarðarsýsla and Elizabeth Sigríður Sigurðardóttir. She was the daughter of Sigurður Jóhannsson from Mánaskál and his wife, Guðrún Guðmundsdóttir. Albert graduated from the University of Minnesota in dentistry in 1929. That same year he went to Winnipeg and worked there as a dentist. Lillian was the daughter of Eyjólfur Einarsson and Þóranna Björnsdóttir, who came west in 1884 from S. Múlasýsla.
