Anna Sigríður Jónsdóttir was born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla on June 14, 1867. She died in Winnipeg on August 27, 1940.

Anna Sigríður came west in 1882 with her mother, the widow Lilja Ólafsdóttir. Jón came west with his parents in 1876. He lived with them in New Iceland and moved with them to the Argyle settlement in 1882. He took his own land in the Argyle settlement in 1886. They moved from there to Winnipeg in 1903.
