Bogi Hermanius Sigurgeirsson was born in Grund in Eyjafjörður on April 10, 1869. He died on January 1, 1949 in Steveston, British Columbia.

Bogi was the son of Rev. Sigurgeir Jakobsson and Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir. Kristín’s parents were Ásmundur Þorsteinsson and Bergþóra Jónsdóttir who came west in 1876. Bogi came to Manitoba in 1889 and first lived in Gimli. He moved a year later to Mikley in New Iceland and lived there after that, except for the last year of his life when he lived with his daughter in Steveston.
