Einar Þorkelsson was born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla on July 26, 1866. He took the name Einar Johnson in the west.
Spouse: October 6, 1893 Oddfríður Þórðardóttir b. October 23, 1870 in Mýrasýsla, d. 1945.
Children: 1. Stefán Þorkell b. 1894, d in Winnipeg 1943 2. Bergþór Emil b. 1896 3. Sigurbjörg Lilja 4. Dýrfinna Klara b. October 3, 1904, d. at one month 5. Kjartan Ingimundur b. October 14, 1914.
Einar came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1883 and worked in the city first year. He moved to New Iceland and worked in transportation. Oddfríður came west with her mother, Bergthora Bergþórsdóttir and stepfather, Sigurður Sigurðsson, in 1887 and settled in Mikley. Einar and Oddfríður settled in the Lundar settlement in 1903 and lived there until 1929 when they moved to Winnipeg.
