Tóbías and Elín moved to Manitoba with Elísabet and Kristján in 1900 and settled in Selkirk. In 1909, they moved to Mervin, Saskatchewan where Tóbías died. Carl Herbert then probably took over the farm because he is a registered farmer in Mervin 1917-1919. It can be assumed that Elín’s relatives lived in New Iceland, either Elísabet or Kristján (perhaps both), because she dies in Gimli.
