Elinborg Salome Samúelsdóttir was born in Húnavatnssýsla on November 21, 1869. She died in Victoria, Vancouver Island on January 22, 1943.

Elinborg was the daughter of Samúel Björnsson and Gróa Jónsdóttir in Grafarkot in Húnavatnssýsla. She came to the West prior to 1892 and moved west to the Pacific. Kristján was the son of Sigurgeir Sigurðsson and Björg Jónsdóttir who came west in 1887 and lived at Point Roberts, Washington. Kristján came west in 1883 with Björn Skaftason of Húnavatnssýsla. Kristján lived in Winnipeg seven years, then moved to Victoria on Vancouver Island and lived there after that.
