They came to the West in 1889 and were first in Winnipeg for a number of years. They moved west to the Pacific where they lived for some time in Victoria, Vancouver Island. They moved to Point Roberts and settled on land that Sigurbjörg’s father and her brother Bent had first owned. They got the right to live there in 1908 and immediately got down to business, cleared the land and built a house.
