Guðlaug Einarsdóttir was born on April 14, 1851 in N. Múlasýsla. She died in New Iceland on August 9, 1907.

Spouse: December 24, 1878, Reverend Páll Þorláksson performed the ceremony in the Hnausa settlement:  Jón Hildibrandsson b. in N. Múlasýsla on May 30, 1846, d. in New Iceland on December 3, 1924.

Children: 1. Einar b. 1876, baptized by Rev. Páll Þorláksson, d. November 1, 1877 2. Hildibrandur b. in Winnipeg on January 15, 1885 3. Einar b. 1889, d. 1907 4. Sigfús b. in the Hnausa settlement on July 20, 1891.

Jón came west across the sea to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876. He was traveling with his future wife and her parents, Einar Guðmundsson and Jarðrúður Guðmundsdóttir. They all went on to the Hnausa settlement in New Iceland and there Jón and Guðlaug started farming. In 1880, they moved to Winnipeg and Jón worked there as a carpenter for the next seven years. They returned to New Iceland in 1888 and settled in the Fljóts settlement, where they lived after that.
