Guðmundur Daníelsson was born in Gullbringusýsla on June 26, 1878. He had the name Guðmundur D. Grímsson in the west.
Spouse: July 29, 1909 Sigríður Jakobína Lárusdóttir b. August 12, 1876 in Húnavatnssýsla.
Children: 1. Anna Sigríður b. June 16, 1910 2. Jón Vilberg b. October 15, 1917.
Guðmundur came west with his parents, Daníel Grímsson and Sigríður Þorsteinsdóttir, in 1885. They first lived in the Garðar settlement but then moved to the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) in 1905. Guðmundur took land a short distance from Mozart in 1907. Sigríður was the daughter of Lárus Gunnarsson and Anna Helgadóttir. Anna came west in 1887 as a widow, while Sigríður had arrived a year earlier. They settled in the Garðar settlement in N. Dakota.
