Gunnar Júlíus Guðmundsson was born in Gullbringusýsla on July 3, 1875. He died in Vancouver on August 31, 1959.
Spouse: April 23, 1906 Kristín Þórðardóttir b. in Garðar, N. Dakota on October 25, 1884. She was the daughter of Þórður Gunnarsson and Auður Grímsdóttir.
Children: 1. Sigríður Guðmundína b. February 3, 1907, d. September 5, 1907 2. Haraldur Júlíus b. June 9, 1910, d. April 2, 1937 in Wynyard, Saskatchewan.
Gunnar emigrated alone to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1900 and went on to Winnipegosis. He moved from there to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan about 1910 and began farming in the Wynyard area. They lived there until 1939 and in Winnipeg from 1939 until 1943, then they moved west to the Pacific and lived in Vancouver.
