Jónína Jónasdóttir was born in S. Múlasýsla on June 20, 1864. She died in Wynyard, Saskatchewan on October 12, 1959.
Spouse: September 26, 1888 Páll Eyjólfsson b. November 16, 1858 in Reyðarförður, S. Múlasýsla, d. in the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) on December 6, 1923. They divorced.

Jónína was sent to a women’s school in Norway where she studied dressmaking. She was then in Copenhagen, Denmark, and must have learned dressmaking there. Páll finished elementary school in Iceland, went to Norway and studied agriculture. He then went home to Iceland, got married and sailed west across the ocean in 1893. The family first lived in Winnipeg and then in Park River in N. Dakota. Páll explored lands in the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) and went there alone, but to reunite the family, Jónína moved to Wynyard.
