Kári Friðjónsson was born in Glenboro, Manitoba on October 15, 1888. He died in 1972 in Vancouver. He had the name Kári Fredrickson in the west.

Children: 1. John F. b. in Winnipeg on November 9, 1915, d. March 1, 1949 2. Theodore b. in Winnipeg on March 23, 1918 3. Margaret Cecilia b. in Winnipeg in 1924.
Kári was the son of Friðjón Friðriksson and Guðný S. Sigurðardóttir in Glenboro. Kári attended trade school and at first worked in his father’s store in Glenboro. When the family moved to Winnipeg in 1906, Kári went with them and got a job in a bank and was a bank employee for the rest of his life. He moved his family to Toronto in 1925 and worked there for the Government of Canada. In 1935, when the Bank of Canada was founded, he became one of the directors and worked there after that. He moved to Vancouver in his later years.
