Kristbjörg Jóhannesdóttir was born in 1869 in S. Múlasýsla, d. 1961 in Manitoba.
Spouse: 1898 Marteinn Guðmundsson b. in S. Múlasýsla in 1873, d. in Baldur, Manitoba in 1957. He took the name Martin in the west.
Childless, but they raised a foster child, Florence Sigurlín.
Kristbjörg came to the West in 1892 while her mother, Valgerður Finnbogadóttir, and her brother Þorfinnur had come west in 1887.
Marteinn came west with his parents in 1878. He grew up in the Fljóts settlement and there he and Kristbjörg began farming. Kristbjörg’s brothers, Jón and Þorfinnur, lived in the Argyle settlement. They moved to the Argyle settlement in 1903 and were there for a few years before moving to Winnipeg where they lived one year. They moved from there to the Argyle settlement and lived in Baldur.
