Kristín Sigfríður Benedictson was born on May 7, 1899 by the Icelandic River (Íslendingafljót). She died on January 31, 1929 in the Swan Lake (Álftavatn) settlement.

Kristín was the daughter of Sigurbjörn Benediktsson and Kristveig Jónsdóttir who farmed at Finnsstaðir at the Icelandic River (Íslendingafljót). Guðni was the son of Daníel H. Guðnason and Hólmfríður S. Kristjánsdóttir who came west from Dalasýsla in 1887. Guðni first farmed with his father on his land near Clarkleigh. They later moved to Warren.
