 Kristín Þórðardóttir was born in Garðar, N. Dakota on October 25, 1884.

Spouse: April 23, 1906 Gunnar Júlíus Guðmundsson b. in Gullbringusýsla on July 3, 1875, d. August 31, 1959 in Vancouver.

Children: 1. Sigríður b. February 3, 1907, d. September 5 in the same year 2. Haraldur Júlíus b. June 9, 1910, d. April 2, 1937.

Kristín was the daughter of Þórður Gunnarsson and Auður Grímsdóttir, pioneer settlers in N. Dakota in 1882. Þórður died in 1886 so Kristín grew up in the Garðar Settlement with her mother. In 1901, they moved north to Red Deer Point on Lake Manitoba. Gunnar came West alone in 1900 and the same year went north to Winnipegosis on Lake Manitoba to fish in Lake Manitoba. There Kristín and Gunnar met and start farming. They moved to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in 1910 and Gunnar was a farmer near Wynyard until 1939. That year they moved to Winnipeg and stayed there until 1943, then went west to Vancouver.
