Kristján Sigurgeirsson was born in Barðastrandarsýsla on December 3, 1864. He took the name Christian Sivertz in the west.
Spouse: 1892 Elínborg Salome Samúelsdóttir b. in Húnavatnssýsla on November 21, 1869, d. in Victoria, Vancouver Island on January 22, 1943.

Kristján was the son of Sigurgeir Sigurðsson and Björg Jónsdóttir who came west in 1887 and lived at Point Roberts. Kristján came west in 1883 with Björn Skaftason of Húnavatnssýsla. Kristján lived in Winnipeg for seven years, then moved to Victoria on Vancouver Island and lived there after that.
