Rannveig Dorothea Björnsdóttir was born in the Shoal Lake settlement (Grunnavatnsbyggð) in Manitoba on September 13, 1891.
Spouse: February 23, 1923 Björgvin Guðmundsson b. in the Lundar settlement on July 28, 1894. He died there on April 20, 1956.
Children: 1. Valtýr Emil b. January 28, 1924 2. Björn Ágúst b. August 3, 1927 3. Guðmundur Leslie b. July 26, 1928.
Rannveig was the daughter of Björn Þorsteinsson and Þuríður Hjálmsdóttir who came west in 1887. Rannveig followed the educational path, finished middle school in Lundar and went to teacher training in Winnipeg. She graduated in 1915 and immediately started teaching in her hometown and taught until 1923. Björgvin was the son of Guðmundur Guðmundsson and Mekkín Jónsdóttir early settlers in the Swan Lake settlement (Álftavatnsbyggð) in Manitoba in 1894. Björgvin was a farmer in the Lundar settlement on a farm named Borg.
