Séra Adam Þorgrímsson was born on July 8, 1879 in Aðaldal in S. Þingeyjarsýsla. He died in Lundar, Manitoba on November 20, 1924.

Adam came West in 1913. In 1916 he went west to the Pacific Ocean and studied theology for a year at a seminary in Seattle. In 1917 he began studying theology at the Chicago Lutheran Seminary. He was ordained in Winnipeg on May 4, 1919 and became the pastor of Jón Bjarnason’s congregation in Hayland, north of Lake Manitoba. In 1923 he moved to Lundar and served the Lutheran congregation there until his death. Sigrún remained in Iceland when Adam went to study in 1913, but due to the World War, she did not get to the West until 1919. She then took the children to Hayland in Manitoba and from there in 1923 to Lundar.
