Sigríður Magnúsdóttir was born in S. Þingeyjarsýsla on January 16, 1871. She died on October 7, 1918.

Information about Sigríður’s journey west and more details about her life in the west are missing. Magnus came west to Ontario, Canada with his parents and siblings in 1874. They lived in Kinmount the first winter but moved to Markland, Nova Scotia a year later. They stayed there until 1881, when the family moved west to Duluth, Minnesota. A year later they went further west to the Thingvalla settlement in N. Dakota. Magnús went to school in the Icelandic settlement in Markland and also in N. Dakota. He lived the rest of his life in N. Dakota.
