Sigrún Vilfríður Þorsteinsdóttir was born in the Fljóts Settlement in New Iceland on June 16, 1891.
Spouse: 1) November 23, 1914 Stefán Guðmundur Þorsteinsson b. in N. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1874, d. in Manitoba on March 1, 1921. 2) December 6, 1941 Emil Þorsteinsson b.in Cypress River, Manitoba on February 18, 1889.
Children: With Stefán: 1. Lilja b. July 23, 1915 2. Vilbert b. July 23, 1915, twin 3. Þorsteinn b. March 29, 1917 4. Guðrún b. July 14, 1920.
Stefán was the son of Þorsteinn Jónsson and Guðrún Bjarnadóttir who came west in 1879 and settled in New Iceland. They moved from there in 1881 to the Argyle Settlement in Manitoba. Stefán grew up there and became a farmer in Cypress River (Brúarbyggð) in Manitoba. Sigrún was the daughter of Þorsteinn Eyjólfsson and Lilja Hallsdóttir who lived in the Fljóts Settlement in New Iceland.
