Skúli Guðmundur Skúlason was born on September 14, 1893 at Aðalból in the Geysir settlement. He died there on December 28, 1943.
Spouse: Brynhildur Guðrún Sigríður Halldórsdóttir b. in Gimli on December 8, 1897. She was known as Lóa Halldórsdóttir in the west.
Children: 1. Kristín Árdís b. August 20, 1919 2. Hólmfríður b. July 3, 1923 3. John b. January 8, 1928, d. 1937.
Skúli was the son of Jón Skúlason and Guðrún Jónasdóttir, early settlers in the Geysir settlement. Lóa’s parents were Halldór Brynjólfsson and Hólmfríður Eggertsdóttir, who lived just north of Gimli in Manitoba. Skúli was active in Icelandic community’s social affairs, and participated in the founding of the Grettir debate club, was in the Geysir Drama Club, the Vísir reading club, and the Lutheran church.
