Soffía came west to Winnipeg in 1897 and lived there ever after. She taught at an aboriginal school in Middlechurch, Manitoba for a few years. She did a lot of good work in the Women’s Society of the First Lutheran Church in Winnipeg and was secretary of the society for several years. Jon came west to Manitoba in 1888. He worked at logging and building railroads for three years before going to school. He graduated from a trade school in Winnipeg and went prospecting for gold in the Klondyke. He returned to Winnipeg and began selling real estate.
