Þóranna Björnsdóttir was born in S. Múlasýsla in 1858. She died in Arborg in 1955.

They came west in 1884 and lived the first years at Reynivellir in the Fljóts settlement. The road took them to Mikley, they stayed there for two years and finally they settled in the Geysir community in 1888. They named their land Eyjólfsstaðir.
