Þórunn Ólafsdóttir was born on March 22, 1876 in Gullbringusýsla. She died on May 11, 1916 in Riverton.
Spouse: July 4, 1899 Þorsteinn Guðmundsson (Steini Bergman) b. in Borgarfjarðarsýsla on October 21, 1872, d. in Vancouver, June 25, 1963. He had the last name Bergman in the west.
Children: 1. Ólafur b. September 6, 1899, died in an accident in Reykjavík in 1907 2. Guðmundur Ottó b. October 1, 1901 3. Lára Ósk b. July 7, 1903 4. Jón Þórður b. August 29, 1905 5. Ólafía Þuríður b. April 2, 1908 6. Agnar Jóhann b. August 29, 1909.
Þorsteinn came west to Winnipeg in 1911 and quickly got a job there, and during the summer he sent an invitation to Iceland and encouraged Þórunn to come west with the children. She was laid sick with tuberculosis in Vifilstaðir, so her sister Margrét came west with the children. Þórunn came west to Winnipeg in 1913 and then the family moved to Gimli and a year later to Riverton. Þorsteinn immediately got a job there. Þórunn did not regain full health and died early in 1916. Þorsteinn soon fostered the children in various homes.
