Valgerður Þorláksdóttir was born on January 13, 1873, in N. Þingeyjarsýsla. She died in the Hólar settlement in Saskatchewan on September 24, 1959.
Spouse: July 10, 1897 Björn Benjamín Jónsson b. in S. Þingeyjarsýsla on February 14, 1864, d. in the Hólar settlement on December 31, 1944. He had the last name Axfjörð in the west.
Children: 1. Kristveig b. 1898 2. Gunnlaugur Stefán b. 1900, d. 1923 3. Þorlákur 4. Halldór b. in Baldur, Manitoba on June 21, 1909.
They came west to Manitoba in 1903 with Kristveig and Gunnlaugur Stefán and settled in Baldur. They moved from there to the Hólar settlement near Leslie in the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan. After Björns death, Valgerður lived with her son Þorlákur. She rests next to Björn in the Hólar settlement.
