Aðalsteinn Kristjánsson was born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla on April 14, 1878. He died in Hollywood, California on July 14, 1949.

Spouse: 1911 Olive Emily, they divorced in 1918.

Childless.

Aðalsteinn came west in 1901 and settled in Winnipeg. A little later he moved west to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan and took land near Mozart. Farming was not for him, so he sold the land and returned to Winnipeg. There he started building houses with his brother Friðrik, who came west in 1906. Together they built a number of large buildings in the following years and became very rich. Aðalsteinn moved west to the Pacific Ocean and settled in California, where he lived for the rest of his life. Kristján dabbled in poetry, see Icelandic heritage below.
