Albert came west to Winnipeg in 1887 and worked as a printer for Lögberg. Later he opened and ran a meat shop for years. Later in life he worked in house building and real estate sales. He became the Icelandic and Danish consul in Winnipeg in 1924. Elizabeth was the daughter of Sigurður Jóhannesson from Mánaskál and Guðrún Guðmundsdóttir who came west to Canada in 1873.
