Albert Sigursteinsson was born in N. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1867. He died on May 9, 1933 in the Hnausa Settlement in New Iceland.

Albert emigrated with his father, Sigursteinn Halldórsson, and step-mother, Sigríður Jónsdóttir, in 1876. They settled in the Hnausa Settlement in New Iceland at Nýibær. Sigurrós emigrated west with her parents, Jón Árnason and Sigurlaug Jónsdóttir, in 1886. They also settled in the Hnausa Settlement. Albert and Sigurrós took land in the Geysir Settlement in 1889 and named their farm Selsstað. They lived there until 1931 when they moved to the Hnausa Settlement.
