Anna Ingibjörg Lárusdóttir was born in Bolungarvík in Ísafjarðarsýsla on September 22, 1884.

Sveinn came west to N. Dakota in 1885 with his parents, Kristján Indriðason and Guðfinna Jóhannesdóttir, who settled near Mountain. Sveinn moved west to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan in 1903 and took land in the Hólar Settlement, near Elfros. There, he and Anna started farming but in 1920 they moved to the village of Elfros where Sveinn ran a tool shop and petrol station for 32 years. He became involved in community affairs and sat on the business council, the school council for 12 years, and the town council for 15 years. Anna was the daughter of Lárus Guðmundsson and Ingibjörg Guðmundsson who moved west to Winnipeg in 1887.
