Anna Jóhannesdóttir was born August 19, 1836 in Húnavatnssýsla. She either died in Iceland or on the way to Canada in 1874. .

Jason moved west to Ontario, Canada in 1874 along with his son Jóhannes and the daughters Anna Ingibjörg and Ingunn. In the fall of 1875 they moved to New Iceland and lived there until 1879. They then settled in the Sand Hills Settlement in N. Dakota. They later lived for number of years in Milton before movinf north to Manitoba just after 1900. During 1907-1910 Jason and his son Jóhannes moved livestock and all household good to a new settlement near Mozart in Saskatchewan.
