Anna Sigríður Jónsdóttir was born in 1851 in Skagafjarðarsýsla. She died in Winnipeg on November 7, 1933.
Spouse: 1) Sigurður Magnússon b. in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1851, drowned in Lake Winnipeg on November 12, 1878. 2) Ólafur Ólafsson b. July 16, 1834, d. January 30, 1919.
Children: With Ólafur: 1. Ólöf Margrét b. in N. Dakota, March 14, 1881 2. Friðrik died in early childhood 3. Þóra died in early childhood 4. Friðey (Freda) b. April 5, 1893.
Anna and Sigurður came west across the sea in 1876 and took land in the Árnes Settlement in New Iceland. After Sigurður’s death, Anna moved south to N. Dakota and there she married Ólafur Ólafsson from Espihóll. They lived in N. Dakota until 1888, then moved west to Markerville, Alberta, Canada. They were there for two years but then settled farther north, near Burnt Lake. They moved from there after a short time and lived in Calgary for two years. They went west to Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, but in 1908 they settled in Winnipeg and spent the rest of their lives there.
