Arngrímur came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876 and moved to New Iceland. Ása arrived there in 1888 with her parents from Dalasýsla. Arngrímur moved west to the Þingvalla Settlement in Saskatchewan in 1888. They lived on this land until 1910 but then Arngrímur died. Ása sold the land and moved to Wynyard, Saskatchewan.
