Árni Guðmundsson was born in Gullbringusýsla on October 24, 1844. He died on Washington Island on December 22, 1933. He took the name Arne Legrove in the west.
Unmarried and childless.
He emigrated west to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1870, one of the four first immigrants in the Western Migration Period 1870-1914. He went to Washington Island the same year and took land there. He lived there nearly all the time, but went to Andabon County in Iowa in 1880 where we worked as a carpenter for two years before returning to the island.
