Árni Sigvaldason: Born May 12, 1847 in Vopnafjordur in N. Múlasýsla. He died on January 10, 1901.
Spouse: Guðrún Aradóttir b. May 4, 1848 in S. Þingeyjarsýsla. She was the sister of Benedikt and Skafta. She died in Glenboro, Manitoba on April 8, 1923.

Árni came west to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1873. He moved to New Iceland and lived there and in Winnipeg, but in 1878 he bought land in the Lincoln County Settlement of Minnesota. Guðrún joined a small group of Norwegians who in 1873 sailed away on Hjálmar, a small sailing ship to Norway and from there to the Western world. She moved to Glenboro in Manitoba after Arni died.
