Ástríður Árnadóttir was born in 1824 in Borgarfjarðarsýsla. She died in Saskatchewan on August 6, 1902.
Spouse: 1) Guðbrandur Hinriksson, d. before 1870 2) Narfi Halldórsson b. in Árnessýsla in 1841; d. March 31, 1911 in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan.
Children: With Guðbrandur: 1. Sigþrúður Guðríður b. 1858 2. Guðmundur b. 1862. With Narfi: 1. Guðbrandur b. July 6, 1869, d. in Foam Lake on March 15, 1913.
They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1877 and lived there for some time. They moved to N. Dakota where Ástríður’s daughter, Sigþrúður Guðbrandsdóttir, lived with her husband, Ólafur Guðmundsson. They moved back to Winnipeg, but only stayed a short time because in the spring of 1886, they moved to the Þingvalla Settlement in Saskatchewan. They moved from there in 1899 to the Lakes Settlement in Saskatchewan and took land in the Foam Lake Settlement.
