Bergrós Sigfúsdóttir was born in the Víðir Settlement in Manitoba on August 25, 1886.
Spouse: November 17, 1909 Ásbjörn Pálsson b. in Eyjafjarðarsýsla on May 31, 1884, d. on Vancouver Island on January 11, 1951.

Bergrós was the daughter of Sigfús Pétursson and Guðrún Þóra Sveinsdóttir, pioneers in the Víðir Settlement. Ásbjörn came west in 1894 to Winnipeg, Manitoba with his parents, Páll Halldórsson and Jóhanna Guðrún Jónsdóttir, and was with them in the Geysir Settlement in New Iceland the first years. He took land near Wynyard in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan but did not live there long; he moved Elfros and ran a pharmacy. He later moved to Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
