Bjarni Sveinsson was born in W. Skaftafellssýsla on May 5, 1876. He died in Vancouver in 1962.

They emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1903 and lived there 12 years. They moved to the Isafold Settlement until 1923 and then moved to Keewatin, Ontario. In 1960 Bjarni moved west to the Pacific coast and Matthildur moved to Winnipeg.
