Björg Jónsdóttir was born in Skagafjarðarsýsla on December on 18, 1879. She died in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in 1963.
Spouse: 1900 Jón Búason b. in Ísafjarðarsýsla on February 12, 1872, d. in Saskatchewan on October 3, 1936. He took the name John Buason in the west.

Jón came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba with his parents, Búi Jónsson and Þórlaug Guðbrandsdóttir, in 1887 and first moved to New Iceland. From there, they moved to Selkirk and lastly in 1901 to Winnipegosis. Jón moved to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan in 1905 and took land in the Wynyard community.
