They emigrated west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876 and moved on to New Iceland. Life’s road led them to the Thingvalla Settlement in N. Dakota in 1880. They moved east to Roseau, Minnesota in 1898 and then to the Vatnabyggð Settlement in Saskatchewan in 1903. They bought land near Elfros.
