Björn Jónsson was born in N. Múlasýsla January 1, 1841. He died April 2, 1903 in New Iceland.
Spouse: 1878 Jakobína Jónasdóttir b. in S. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1855, d. 1934 in New Iceland.

Björn and Jakobína were engaged when they emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1877 and then moved on to New Iceland. They took land in the Icelandic River Settlement and there, Rev. Jón Bjarnason married them in January, 1878. It was the first marriage in the Settlement. They spent the rest of their lives there.
