Carolina Valgerður Hall was born on September 5, 1909 in Edinburg, N. Dakota.
Spouse: November 26, 1938 Magnús Bogi Jónsson b. in the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota on April 9, 1904. He had the name Magnus B Johnson in the west.
They had no surviving children.
Caroline was the daughter of Jóhann Gunnars Hall, a farmer in Edinburg, N. Dakota, and his wife, Hosianna Guðbjörg Jósefsdóttir. Magnús Bogi was the son of Jón Jónsson and Guðbjörg Guðmundsdóttir, early settlers in the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota. He grew up in the settlement and early showed a great interest in farming. He enrolled at North Dakota Agricultural College in Fargo and earned a B.S. degree in Agricultural Science in 1931 and an M.S. degree in the same subject from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1942. He taught at the school for some time before moving to Washington, D.C. where he got a position with the United States Department of Agriculture. It lasted until 1969, when he retired due to age.
